In 2009 while on maternity leave, I sat at home wondering how I was going to balance my growing family with a very demanding sales job. With a love for languages, a heart for the Latin American community, and lots of prayer, I took a leap of faith from my corporate America career to develop materials that would help teach English to native Spanish speakers. Over the years, effectively using the curriculum to lead ESL ministries in the states and abroad helped me to refine the lessons. Eventually, we replaced clip art with custom illustrations created by my husband and my children. Yes, it became a family affair! Later we developed an accompanying testing manual and reader. Finally, we wrote a teacher guide that would streamline ESL ministry for others. At New Horizon English, we continue to design new materials to equip ESL teachers and are passionate about helping our partner ministries reach their communities and seeing ESL students ALZA SU VOZ!
